Who can I apply to?

In order to practice medicine in Dubai, healthcare practitioners must get a license from the Dubai Health Authority (DHA). It is granted by the Health Regulation Department (HRD) of the Dubai Health Authority, which is responsible for regulating healthcare practices in Dubai (DHA). Professionals working in the healthcare profession must apply for and pass the DHA licensing exam as well as other examinations in order to get a license.

Eligibility to become a nurse

Nurses who wish to be licensed must meet the following requirements:

  1. Nurses who have graduated from a nationally and/or internationally recognized nursing college or university are required to apply.
  2. For graduates from universities in the United Arab Emirates, the program and university must be accredited by the Ministry of Education (MOE/National Qualifications Authority).
  3. No credit is given for qualifications obtained through honorary nature, correspondence, or distant learning towards the PQR requirements.
  4. Required The bachelor’s degree program must be completed in a minimum of three (3) years of full-time study.
  5. In order to graduate with honors from UAE universities, all non-UAE national graduate nurses are obliged to do a six-month internship after graduation.
  6. The experience and internship requirements for basic entry-level nursing positions are waived for UAE nationals.
  7. A valid license or registration to practice medicine in the applicant’s home country and/or last employment location is required.
  8. Assistant Nurses and Assistant Midwives are not allowed to work on their own and must be supervised by certified nurses or midwives at all times.
  9. A minimum of current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or other certifications as determined by the area of practice, is required for all nurses working in the healthcare setting.
  10. It is necessary to provide an academic transcript for the purpose of credentialing, and the determination of disciplines will be applied in this case.

Is there any entrance exam to apply for a nurse in UAE?

DHA is the entrance exam that you can apply for online. The DHA license application and approval procedure are lengthy but uncomplicated. Here’s all you need to know about applying for a medical license in the United Arab Emirates.

Keep the following documentation close to hand when preparing for the meeting:

  • A valid passport is required.A photograph in the format of a passport (passport size, white background)
  • Birth Certificate

All of these documents will need to be scanned and sent to the DHA portal once your application account has been created. The application will cost 1,142 AED, which is broken into two payments of (210 AED and 932 AED). This payment includes application fees and admin fees to verify the documents.

A two-hour multiple-choice exam with 70 questions will be administered after the verification process is completed. It is necessary to correctly answer at least 60% of the questions in order to pass the exam (42 questions). The exam will cost you AED260 (around US$260).

Following your successful completion of the test, you will be issued an eligibility letter that is valid for one year. The entire DHA procedure is likely to take between 3-6 months, so if you are considering relocating to Dubai to work as a nurse, it is crucial to start planning as soon as possible.

Salary of the nurse in UAE?

According to their duties and responsibilities, the following are the estimated wages of nurses in the United Arab Emirates: Private Hospital Nurse: AED 4,000-8,000 per month (depending on experience). Government Hospital Nurse: AED 6,000-15,000 per month (depending on experience). Home Care Nurse: AED 5,000-9,000 per month (depending on experience).
