Dubai is frequently referred to as the “City of Gold.” In addition to having a whole souk devoted to selling gold, Dubai has long been a popular place to buy gold, particularly among the ex-pat community and foreign visitors. However, have you ever wondered why this emirate receives preferential treatment when buying this priceless metal? There are a lot of good reasons to purchase gold in Dubai. What to expect if you ever consider doing so?

GOLD IN DUBAI: 5 REASONS TO BUY

Dubai has a lot to offer in terms of gold jewelry, whether you’re looking for something basic to wear every day or something more extravagant. In addition, there are five other reasons why buying gold in Dubai is so common.

    1. A PURE GOLD FROM DUBAI

When purchasing gold in Dubai, you won’t need to be concerned about the jewelry’s quality or purity. The government regulates all goods sold by jewelers, ensuring the legitimacy of every piece of gold sold in Dubai. Additionally, all jewelry shops in the city are required to display a gold purity hallmark on the items they sell and to give it to customers upon request. The gold purity hallmark is a document that lists information like the karats, weight, and cost of the labor as well as the amount of actual gold and gemstones used in the jewelry. It guarantees that every purchase is verified and has a global market value. Since many people bring gold back to their home country, buying gold in Dubai is very well-liked among ex-pats.

    2. Dubai offers cheaper gold

Due to its lack of taxes, Dubai has always enjoyed favor. It is a major factor in people’s decisions to purchase gold and move to the city. As buyers would only pay for the value of the gold jewelry, prices for gold in Dubai have always been lower due to the emirate’s exclusion of taxes. Even after the Value Added Tax (VAT) was implemented in 2018, it still costs significantly less to buy gold in Dubai than it does in other nations around the world. Additionally, all purchases made in the UAE by tourists are eligible for VAT refunds.

In Dubai, the only tax that is currently levied on gold purchases is VAT. Other countries, like India, have additional taxes on top of the VAT, including the goods and services tax (GST) and excise duty, which raises the price of gold jewelry.

    3. You have a greater choice

The emirate of Dubai is well-known for being a gold as well as a clothing and electronics shopping mecca. If you’re looking to buy gold in Dubai, you can either visit the Deira Gold Souk, one of the city’s oldest traditional souks, which has a line of jewelry stores lined up, or you can choose from some of the city’s more well-known gold retailers, like Damas and Joy Alukas, which are spread throughout the city’s malls. Wherever you go, you can always find a spectacular selection of jewelry with styles from all over the world.

    4. Gold prices in Dubai follow world market rate changes

The gold prices are another feature that makes purchasing gold in Dubai a smooth process. Dubai’s gold rate is based on international gold prices, guaranteeing consistency in pricing throughout the city’s retail establishments. The fact that gold prices fluctuate internationally, much like stock market prices do, gives gold buyers in Dubai the chance to benefit from declining prices and get gold at the lowest price. Therefore, before making a purchase, always make sure to check the current gold rate in Dubai.

    5. In Dubai, you can nrgotiate the costs involved in making gold

Another factor contributing to the affordability of gold in Dubai is the ability to bargain for the cost of the making fees, which are fees associated with creating the ornament. Making fees change based on the type of gold jewelry you purchase and the retailer you choose. While haggling can be a little difficult in the larger jewelry stores in the mall, you won’t experience this problem in the stores in the Dubai Gold Souk. You can significantly reduce the making charges by adjusting your purchase amount and the gold price in Dubai.

Dubai Airport to be peak time; Passengers are advised to follow these instructions

Dubai: As the holiday season draws to a close, the Dubai International Airport (DXB) is likely to experience heavy traffic. According to airport officials, 3.3 million passengers will pass through Dubai International Airport in the next 13 days.

“The average daily traffic will reach 258,000 visitors. August 26 and 27 is expected to be the busiest time with over half a million guests arriving.” said in a statement issued on Wednesday. Passengers should follow special instructions to ensure a hassle-free journey.

Upon arrival at Terminals 1, 2 and 3, passengers between the ages of 4 and 12 can use the special passport control counters to stamp their passports independently. For those traveling with families, passengers above the age of 12 can use the smart gates to speed up the passport control process. At the smart gates, registered passengers can clear passport control by looking for a green light without the need to scan a document, according to Dubai Airports’ website.

Those arriving to pick up guests from the airport should use designated car parks or valet services. Access to the arrival forecourts at Terminals 1 and 3 is restricted to public transport and other authorized airport vehicles, officials said.
