UAE: Avatar is back in Middle East theatres on September 22

The film, the highest-grossing film of all time globally, will return in 4K High Dynamic Range, looking better than it ever has before.

20th Century Studios has also dropped a special re-release trailer. which you can watch below.

Avatar was written and directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker James Cameron, who also produced along with Jon Landau. At the time, the film won three Oscars out of nine nominations including Best Cinematography, Production Design and Visual Effects.

The reason we’re here, of course, is to gear up for the sequel, Avatar: Way of the Water, which is the first of what will become a quintology that is set to be released every other year, with more installments coming in 2024 and 2026, with another in 2028. Mark your calendars!

He’s been filming them all back to back with Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Joel David Moore, Dileep Rao, Stephen Lang, Matt Gerald, and Sigourney Weaver, with a relaese finally coming December 16 for the first installment.

Speaking to me two years ago, star Stephen Lang was very excited about the release.

It’s very satisfying to know that the character was valued enough and made enough of an impression to [have Cameron] say ‘we’re not done with him yet’. That, initially, was kind of wonderful, to me. My job is really to advocate the role that I’m playing, and so it’s satisfying to have that much more time to discover Quaritch, find out what makes him tick, talk about him, and hopefully defy expectations that people have for the character, to create new expectations,” Lang told me.

“I’m working now with a much broader canvas than I was with the first Avatar, and it keeps me in concert with James Cameron to really go to town and examine the character in detail. That, to me, is totally tremendously satisfying and challenging,” Lang continues.

As far as what he’s filming when, even Lang can’t keep that straight.

“I’ve given up trying to keep track. The whole thing gets a little confusing,” Lang says.
